Sorry if the title is making your blood pressure rise but it was the only way to get your attention. And I had no idea that your Mom is fat. Really, I had no idea. Sorry to say it but the government does think your Mom is fat. Today an article in the New York Times reported the government came out with a massive list of dietary guidelines (it was only like in line really) that urges Americans to eat less food. What the @^$#% is going in here!
I can totally image the President and his people sitting in the oval office. It being all quite. President: “Alright, what is up next on the agenda?” Someone pipes up, “The people are mad because food is making them fat.” Obama: “Then tell them to eat less!” Secratary leans over and whispers, “Isn’t he just so good for our country!”
Really? Do we need to get politics into our diets? Do I need the government telling me what to eat and not eat? For example, government official: “You can have that nasty piece of celery but you can’t eat that delicious hamburger.”
Anyways, I’m glad that the government could give me that extra chuckle today. Here is the New York Times article where I found this glorious government nugget of advice: http://www.nytimes.com/2011/02/01/business/01food.html?_r=1&ref=business
